Nicholas turns 4 years old!

Once again, my motto seems to be "better late than never".
On August 8th, my dear Nicholas turned 4 years old! I really don't know how this is possible - how is my little baby, now 4?!
The first thing he did, was march up to Musa, and say "now I'm 4 like you!" Proud as could be. . .he just loves his big brother.

I tried asking him the birthday questions, but didn't get too far. His speech has improved SO much in the past 8 months; however, he's still not very eloquent when it comes to answering questions. Here are his birthday answers - lol

My Princess Pamela turns 8!

They say, better late then never, so here I am. . .
Pamela turned 8 at the end of July - how she's already 8 I really don't know.
I can so easily remember the little, itsy-bitsy girl who arrived at TLC at 21 months, weighing only 5.8 kgs (12.7 lbs)
She has grown into such a gentle, caring, and thoughtful young lady. She has such confidence in so many situations, and is so caring and helpful with her little sister and brothers - such a joy for my heart to see.

I also asked Pamela the "birthday questions". Here they are - see if you can find the "theme" :)

Here are a few pictures from her birthday
There's a story with this picture. Nicholas was thrilled to look for a special treat for Pamela. Or at least I thought he was. Once he had chosen his special sweet, and we had bought it, he took it, and tried to open it. I explained again that it was for Pamela and he seemed ok with that.
Here Pamela had just open the sweets from him, and oh he was so excited. Just as soon as she had opened them, as you can he, he was convinced they were for him. He was less than impressed to find out they still weren't for him - lol

 New boots - yeah

Special sweets from Musa for his big sister

If you remember the above theme of Pamela's questions, you will know this present from Sihle was a big hit - after opening this there was singing, dancing and all!

A special present from Mommy - she was thrilled. My kids are all big fans of Nelson Mandela

Pamela asked for homemade Lasagna for supper - yum yum

She decided she wanted a South Africa dessert instead of cake this year - Malva Pudding and Custard. Also very yummy!

A Malva Pudding should be eaten hot - so it's sticky and gooey
However, I never took into account what a hot pudding will do to Candles. . .
they started falling over, and when I tried to reposition them I found they had no wax left - only the wick - oops
So we ate pudding with liquid wax - I still laugh thinking about it :)
(By the way it was still really really yummy!!!!)

On a different topic, we just came back from the most wonderful weekend family camp.
Yesterday afternoon there was family art time.
I, for the first time was able to make a mosaic. It was SO much fun.
Below is the finished product. . .two hours of fun, fun, fun!

There were also projects for the kids.
Sihle made the heart to the left, and Pamela the hexagon to the right.
Little artists in the making :)

Here's a few pictures of the kids that I took over the weekend. . .
My gorgeous girls!

My bouncing, busy boys. . .

Just look at how Nicholas looks at Musa - complete adoration!
Musa has acquired a little shadow. . .

All 4 of my cheeky children - oh, how I became so blessed I really don't know!

Until next time,
blessings from Africa
