Fairies, Princesses and the one and only Prince

This past couple of weeks just seems to have flown by! Where to I'm not sure, but come and gone. Here are a few pics to show a little of what we've been up to :)

Pamela started Ballet/Modern dance in January. She just loves it, and constantly amazes me with how quickly she's picking up the different dance steps. Here are some pics of my dancing princess. . .

Every year I help to put on a Mother's Day concert at my school. These three little fairies passed out presents to the moms as they arrived. . .

The concert went off very nicely. Mom's are the best audience :)

Dear Susan had her grade 8's make this beautiful tree for our entrance. The little grade 1-3's made ladybugs, butterflies, bees. . .

The decoration theme was "your garden". Here are some trees that my grade 5/6's made.

 

I relaxed Sihle's hair as the curls were getting quite tight, and starting to hurt when I brushed it. This is her showing off her "long" hair just before I dried and brushed it all into place. She was so proud! (This is the longest her hair has EVER been)!

When gramma came last time she brought Musa this super cute Tiger outfit, only it was summer and too hot for him to wear. Well, winter has now arrived, and he is very happily wearing his tigger suit:) He loves it!

A special little boy!

Tonight I thought I'd tell you about a little boy who is very close to my heart. This little guy arrived at TLC back in December of 2010. He was just shy of 4 months, and only weighed a little over 3 kgs (about 6 and a half pounds). He was very ill when he first arrived at TLC, and so I of course fell head over heels in love with him!

Christmas morning :)

Due to his medial needs he had many recurrent infections, and so we spent many days visiting him at hospital. Here Keshia is telling him a story.

My kids were all very fond of him, and dear Sihle especially could always be found giving him cuddles and kisses. . .

Ellie, a volunteer from Germany also fell madly in love with this dear little boy. Here she is introducing him to cereal. Ummm yum!

As he started gaining weight and getting stronger - oooohhhhh, he only became cuter and cuter!

Hey Dude!

My three introducing him to the joys of "Barney". By the looks of that smile, I think he enjoyed it!

Musa was always so sweet with him. He can get a little jealous when I'm around other babies, but with him, never a problem. . .Look at them cuddled up together!

Even though at this point he was over a year old, he was still in and out of hospital a lot. TLC decided he needed more medical care than they could easily provide, and so decided to place him in another children's home here in Johannesburg called "Acres of Love". This organization has over 20 houses throughout the Jo'burg area, with each house holding 8-10 children. They had just opened a new house for special needs children, and he was the first to arrive. The houses are run by two "house Moms" and so if the children are not adopted they grow up in a family setting. 

When I first heard he was moving I was heartbroken. I didn't know if I'd be able to see him anymore, if he really would be well cared for. . .my heart ached. I decided to work as hard as possible to keep in contact with him, and ensure he was doing well once he was moved.

In November he moved to Acres of Love, and I went to visit him a mere 4 days later. I didn't know what to expect, but oh, did I leave that visit with a light heart. He was currently the ONLY baby there. He had two house moms that were there for only him. He was being doted on, loved and adored!

Sihle was so happy to see "her baby boy". She spent most of the visit as close to him as possible.

Unfortunately his house is about 45 minutes from where we live, and they don't take visitors on weekends, so it is tricky to find times/days to visit. . .We've been  managing  to see him about every 6-8 weeks. How he is growing in between visits!

He loves riding his bike around. Still needs help, but I'm sure it won't be long and he'll be flying around all on his own!

COOL DUDE

So happy to spend time with my boy! Love him to bits and pieces. . .

Exciting news is that he's been waiting for a big surgery, and he finally has a date in mid May! Once this operation is done, they will start trying to find him a forever family! Oh, the day he goes home with his family will be such a happy day for me!!! Pray that God finds this little boy his special family. . .
